Luzerne County veterans affairs director to retire

James Spagnola has announced his retirement as Luzerne County’s director of veterans affairs, county Manager Romilda Crocamo said Wednesday in an email to county council.

“I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Jim for his unwavering dedication and exceptional service to Luzerne County and our great nation,” Crocamo said. “Under his leadership, the Office of Veteran Affairs has consistently provided invaluable support and resources to the veterans in our community. With his unparalleled commitment, he has made significant strides in improving the lives of veterans and ensuring they receive the services they deserve.”

Spagnola “has worked tirelessly to advocate for the rights and well-being of our veterans,” Crocamo said.

Spagnola has served as county veterans affairs director since 2009.
