Smithton American Legion Post to honor Vietnam War veterans

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - 8/5/2022

Aug. 5—Vietnam War veterans will be remembered and honored on Aug. 13 in a daylong program at the Smithton American Legion Park at Lions Drive and Peer Street.

Gold Star families — those who lost a loved one during the war — will be remembered during a ceremony at 1 p.m., with retired Army Sgt. Major James Hill, a Vietnam War veteran and post 9/11 veteran, as the guest speaker.

The Smithton American Legion Post 790 will honor and recognize Vietnam War veterans at the park next to the post, where food, drink and music will be available.

The Traveling Vietnam Wall, listing names of those who died in the Vietnam Wall, and the 9/11 Wall, will be at the Smithton Little League Ballfield on Lions Drive, said Robert Prah, American Legion Post 790 commander.
