Austin American-Statesman - 3/4/2021

Central Texas veterans will be able to a get a COVID-19 vaccine this weekend at a Southeast Austin clinic.

The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System will be giving out Moderna COVID-19 vaccines on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Austin VA Outpatient Clinic at 7901 Metropolis Drive.

Veterans who are 60 years old or older and are enrolled in VA health care will be eligible for the clinic.

Walk-ins will be accepted but officials said long wait times are expected.

"Veterans will be vaccinated based upon vaccine availability," officials said.

Veterans must bring their VA ID to verify VA enrollment and schedule their second dose of the vaccine, which is administered about 28 days after the first.

Information about the vaccine can be found online at: https://www.va.gov/health-care/covid-19-vaccine/.
