---- CUSTOMIZED ADAPTATION --------- PURPOSE: To provide a custom adaptation of a wheelchair accessible recliner for individuals with mobility disabilities. The Wheelchair Accessible Recliner allows wheelchair users an alternative from standard furniture that is comfortable and designed with their needs in mind. Aside from comfort, the Wheelchair Accessible Recliner provides therapeutic advantages including pressure relief and stretching exercises. To use the Wheelchair Accessible Recliner the user backs over the front bottom bar which works as a wheel chock to keep the chair stable in the reclined position. To exit the recliner the user pulls forward on the armrest and the chair pops out. The Wheelchair Accessible Recliner is available in two versions. The first version is a fully upholstered recliner equipped with an electric actuator and remote control to easily adjust the reclined position. The second version is an open frame recliner which has a durable powder-coated finished and can be equipped with either a manual adjustment or electric actuator. Both versions have welded steel frames and recline to 45 degrees. All Wheelchair Accessible Recliners can be equipped with an adjustable headrest, cup holders, and a ramp for entering. Design specifications: Frame 36 inches wide by 42 inches long, and 40 inches at armrests. The backrest is 14 inches wide by 45 inches tall with adjustable height headrest.
