AVC Edge is a voice output voting machine designed for use by voters who are blind or have low vision. Its audio ballot capability helps voters with vision disabilities cast a secret ballot. It has a large high resolution color screen which is adjustable to serve voters of varying heights and physical abilities. The machine accommodates bilingual and multilingual ballots with up to 12 languages in up to 2,000 ballot styles, with a maximum ballot size of 500 pages with 1,000 contests/races/proposals and 10,000 candidates. The system uses proprietary firmware on a closed system to prevent hacker access. Ballots are securely stored on multiple forms of memory, and can be printed for hand recounts. The voting booth is self-contained. POWER: Uses 100 to 240 volts alternating current (AC) or sealed lead-acid battery with 3 to 8 hour operating life.
