The Side Winder is an adaptive fishing rod holder designed for use by individuals with mobility disabilities in one arm or hand. This adapted fishing device has a unique spring-loaded tube that allows the user to adjust the fishing rod to 1 of 4 fishing positions. It is designed to be worn on the hip of the side of the dominant limb, and intended to catch smaller sized fish (up to 30 pounds). Available for right or left hand use, the Side Winder will work with any rod handle less than 1¼-inch in diameter; however, it works best with a gimbal butt on the rod. The gimbal fits into a post at the bottom of the rod holder to prevent the rod from moving when reeling in the line, and the thumb screw on top of the rod holder will lock the rod in place.
