Word Wizard is a language, reading, spelling and vocabulary tutorial program designed for use by parents and teachers working with children with low vision, learning, communication, cognitive or hearing disabilities. This application (or app) allows a parent or teacher to use an Apple iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch to help children learn word and sentence structure and spelling. Word Wizard contains 173 word lists of 10 words and available categories include: Dolch Words, 1000 most frequently used words, body parts and family members. The user can also create custom word lists by entering their own words and sentences. Children can build any word or sentence using the talking Movable Alphabet and immediately hear the text they wrote, as well as verify spelling using the built-in spell checker which highlights unrecognized words. Two different backgrounds are available and the speed and tone of the voice can be adjusted. Other features include the ability to select an American or British voice, grid or free placement mode, uppercase or lowercase letters, and phonics or letter name when a letter is touched. Hints are available when the child does not know how to spell a word, and a report is display as a reward when a quiz is completed. COMPATIBILITY: For use with the Apple iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Apple iOS 4.0 or later.
