"DO IT YOURSELF" ENTRY --- PURPOSE: To enable individuals with limited hand or finger control to push buttons or turn pages. To make this device, a dowel is measured and cut into 5.5-inch sections. A quarter-inch hole is drilled one-half-inch deep at the midpoint of a section of the dowel. The unsharpened lead end of the pencil is pushed into the hole and glued, if necessary. MATERIALS: 0.75-inch diameter dowel, unsharpened pencil with eraser, and glue (optional). TOOLS: Drill with a quarter-inch drill bit. SKILLS REQUIRED: Woodworking. TITLE: Button Pusher/Page Turner.
