The Speech Expressor is a speech compressor designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This digital pitch control device works with a talking book cassette player or other tape player having a variable speed control, allowing the user to control the pitch while the playback speed is increased or decreased. The device controls volume, tone, compression rate, and sharpness, and is compatible with any sound source having variable speed control. It plugs in to the earphone jack of the audio source. The device is housed in a compact portable case with a built-in speaker, and comes with adapters for 3.5-millimeter stereo and 0.25-inch mono jacks, a manual in print and on cassette, and a braille start-up sheet. POWER: Uses rechargeable double-A battery. Model 1-07050-00 (U.S. version) includes an AC adaptor; model 1-07050-01 (International version) does not. WARRANTY: One year limited warranty.
