APOPPS (the Adjustable Postoperative, Protective and Preparatory System For Transtibial Amputees) is a below-knee training prosthesis designed for use by individuals with lower extremity amputation. This adjustable postoperative or preparatory protective socket protects against injury during both early and preparatory stages of rehabilitation, while providing access to bandages and dressings for wound care. It features an adjustable design to accommodate compression and swelling of the wound area, and accepts elastic wrap bandages (ACE) or shrinkers to reduce swelling. The system permits measured and controlled weight bearing, and allows the patient to begin immediate post-operative rehabilitation and early ambulation while helping to build patient tolerance for a permanent socket. The system is ventilated to enhance postoperative healing. It helps maintain correct extension alignment, and shapes and prepares the residual limb for a definitive prosthesis. It comes with a washable neoplush wrap and Velcro strap, and is available in a variety of stock sizes. OPTIONS: Custom socket systems; Variable Circumference Supra Patellar Socket (VCSPS) and Universal Frame Outer Socket (UFOS) to help prepare the patient to be fitted with a lower extremity prosthesis for the first time. SIZES: More than 102 sizes are in stock; custom sockets can also be fabricated from measurements. WARRANTY: Normal wear warranty covering workmanship and materials. DELIVERY TIME: Orders received by noon Eastern Standard Time (EST) will be shipped the same day.
