The Open Sesame System II is a residential powered door operator designed for use by people who use wheelchairs. The system includes the Open Sesame Deluxe Door Opener (Model 100), an electric strike plate for mounting in the wooden door frame, the wall transformer and wiring, the transmitter, and mounting hardware for inward and outward opening doors. The system opens and closes left- or right-side hinged doors with the touch of a button on the matchbox-sized transmitter which can be mounted on a wheelchair using the included Velcro fasteners. The transmitter features a pressure pad on the face which allows the system to be activated using fingers, the palm, the side of the hand, an arm, or the chin. The system can also be customized for other activation devices and integrated with other environmental controls. Because the system does not use a spring mechanism, the door may be left open or left ajar according to the user's needs. The unit features an adjustable hold-open delay of 5 to 60 seconds and an auto-close setting which causes the door to close automatically after a specified delay when the door has been opened manually. The automatic open/close cycle is interrupted when an obstacle is encountered. The electric strike plate also enables the door to be unlocked via the transmitter while retaining the existing key lock and the automatic clutch disengagement allows unimpeded manual operation of the door when it is not being powered by the transmitter. POWER: The system is powered by a plug-in wall transformer with low voltage wiring, eliminating the need for special electrical outlet installation. The unit also includes battery back-up, allowing the door to be operated in the event of a power failure.
