Sutter-Yuba Mental Health Services: Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF)
information provided by: Sutter County Department of Mental Health
Adults in need of acute psychiatric inpatient treatment can be admitted to the Sutter-Yuba Psychiatric Health Facility either voluntarily or involuntarily only if the client meets the Welfare and Institutions Code 5150 criteria (danger to self, danger to others, or gravely disabled). Once admitted, stays can range from 1 – 30+ days. Fees are based on a sliding scale. Only limited insurance is accepted.
Adults may also request referral to various Northern California psychiatric hospitals. These hospitals may accept a greater range of insurance and/or co-pays may be less than sliding scale fees at Sutter-Yuba Mental Health.
Children who meet 5150 criteria are placed at various Northern California hospitals which have specialized programs for treating youth. Parents assume payment responsibility.
