Fundraiser to benefit eating disorder awareness group

for-profit organization that raises awareness and understanding about eating disorders, will host a fundraising event at the Jack Evans Community Center, 4705 South Main St., Hemlock, from 1 to 5 p.m.Dec. 10.

Local business vendors will offer a variety of holiday shopping items, including jewelry, toiletries, homemade blankets, alpaca yarn goods, Tupperware, and many arts and crafts items.

Face painting for the children is planned, along with a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction of donated goods.

KMB for Answers is named for Katelyn Mary Bennett, a Livonia resident, who battled with an eating disorder from a young age, and died at age 24 in June 2013.

Her mother, Ellen, her sister and friends, created KMB for Answers in her memory. The organization offers resources and presentations to educators and the public about signs to look for if a young person is developing an eating disorder, such as anorexia or bulimia, and treatment that is available.
